King of Mali – Forerunner of the African Renaissance

Peoples of Africa,

Sisters and brothers of the Diaspora and Afro-descendants,

Citizens of the world,

At the dawn of this new year, I extend to you, with respect and fraternity, my most sincere wishes for peace, health, stability, and hope.

May this new year be, for humanity, a year of reconciliation, renewed wisdom, and victories over fear, division, and injustice.

May peoples learn to speak to one another, to understand one another, and to respect one another, beyond borders, beliefs, and fleeting interests.

For Africa,

I express the wish for a continent that stands upright, aware of its worth, faithful to its roots, and resolutely turned toward the future.

May Africa choose the unity of its peoples over fragmentation,

work over complacency,

education over ignorance,

and lasting peace over imposed conflicts.

I envision an Africa where youth find their rightful place,

where women are fully recognized as pillars of society,

where elders and retirees pass on their wisdom,

and where the Diaspora and Afro-descendants actively participate in rebuilding the motherland.

At this end of the year, I address a respectful and fraternal appeal to Royal Families and Sovereign Houses, to traditional, customary, and religious authorities and legitimate leaders, to Former Heads of State and Government, as well as to the families of the Fathers of Independence and the great Builders of our continent.

Africa needs your concerted, responsible, and visionary involvement.

Through your experience, your moral authority, your historical legacy, and your sense of service, you can actively contribute to peace, education, social cohesion, the transmission of values, and the sustainable development of our peoples.

For the world,

I wish for a more humane humanity,

more responsible leaders,

fairer institutions,

and more united peoples.

May the new year strengthen cooperation among nations,

dialogue between cultures,

and respect among religions,

for it is together that we will build a future worthy of generations to come.
